The ASBA developed the Certified Field and Track Builder programs to help raise professional standards and improve the practice of field construction. ASBA promotes the highest standards of design, construction, and maintenance. Going through the rigorous process to receive an ASBA certification is entirely voluntary and validates that these builders are raising the professional standards of field construction. The certification process is lengthy and complex and provides a means of identifying professionals who have met a higher standard of achievement.
In order to become an ASBA Certified Builder, you must pass a comprehensive exam on field and track construction and maintenance and fulfill a set standard of experience. ASBA also requires Certified Builders to demonstrate a high level of expertise in field construction. Through the ASBA Certified Builder program, Certified Builders must be able to prove their knowledge in areas such as project planning; project administration; site, subgrade, and base work; field surface and marking; and maintenance.
